Football championship @ IBM

IBM conducted annual sports event St. John's grounds on 20th November'05 . After walking out in quater finals in the last year, once again we nominated for football championship this year. Pre-semi final wasn't so tough to win. But our backing was weak, thanks to our golie who saved 2 great goals.We won the first game by 2-1 to enter semi final.Semi final wans't so easy to clear. We had to strive hard to get a goal. In first half neither team scored any goal, frustration level started building high. SUKHOI team made all tries to get a goal. Our strong backing never allowed SUKHOI to get the ball to our goal post. Finally our forward players charged up themselves to put two goals one after the other in the second half. We won Semi final by 2-0 and we made into gold league. By this time we knew that silver is sure, but why not gold! Final league was at around 4PM on the same day. We all took enough rest, but still legs were not moving to hit the ball. As game started both team came up with their strong points, strong backing didn't allow both teams to get a goal in the first half!! Two of our members got hurt badly.We had to play to win the match. In second half of the game MIG-1 forwards came into action, we scored our first goal. Entire team took a deep breath. All that we needed at this moment was keep our backing to the extreme and attack. We played as 5-2-3. We made it when we heard umpire whistle, which declared end of second half.Red shirts made it all over. We MIG-1 won IBM ISL triumph'05 football champions trophy defeating CANBERRA by 1-0.
